So I visited the Toledo Museum of Art recently, and after getting to look at some art first-hand, I would have to say that the two movements I like the most would have to be modern abstract/minimalist (I was quite surprised by this) and the massive Baroque figurative paintings. Yet despite there being alot of good art, I couldn't get over the fact that I felt like I was walking in a cemetary. I think museums may be where art goes to die. Few paintings, even by the great masters, can match looking at the real world, and I don't know what to make of that.
What I liked the best:
-Rothko painting
-Rubens painting
-Andrew Wyeth painting
